The game marks the 50th appearence in a blue and black shirt for Welsh international second row Craig Quinnell. Quinnell made his Cardiff debut in November 1999.
Cardiff will hope South African Pieter Muller will play. He is named in the starting line up, but his inclusion is subject to him passing a fitness test on a damaged ankle.
Muller will be the only change from the team that started the victory over Montferrand at the Arms Park last weekend.
Cardiff must win at Franklins Garden if they are to stand any chance of qualifying for the quarter-fianls at the end of the month.
