Llanelli Ticket Boost
Llanelli fans came up with the perfect response to the Leicester Tigers’
supporters stalking their Heineken Cup semi-final tickets – they snapped up 3,000 in one day.
The Scarlets have now reached the 9,600 figure they needed to access a further 2,400 reserve tickets, kept for them at European Rugby Cup Ltd offices in Dublin.
The first fans arrived at 7.00am headed up by Maurice Newman of Llwyn Hendy in Llanelli, who won a free pair of tickets to the Final for his trouble.
The club are expecting the reserve allocation to arrive on Friday 15 March,
but fans should keep a look out in local press on the website and the club’s call line (0871 871 8088) for news of the ticket delivery.
Tickets will still be sold to fans based in Wales by priority and with more
Cup Final tickets to give away, the Tigers’ chances of getting in on the
action are looking slim.
” The ticket office is being run like a military operation this week, but they are getting more calls than they can process at the moment,” said Llanelli backs coach Nigel Davies.
” The best way to get hold of tickets is to visit Stradey Park and we will
let everyone when to do so as soon as we can.
” The response from fans on a Wales-wide basis has been amazing.
” We’ve had free coaches booked from all over Wales, North, South, East and
West and there are even coaches going from Swansea Rugby Club,” added
Davies.
