The Welsh Women’s National rugby Squad travel to London Welsh this weekend to face England in the penultimate match of their Six Nations Campaign. Coach John Williams has made several changes to the team following the disappointing defeat against Spain in Madrid a fortnight ago.
Hooker Jamie Kift returns from a recent knee injury and is joined by UWIC newcomer Catrin Edwards in the front row.
Aberystwyth’s, Cath Walkley starts at Scrum Half with Kerry Jenkins being left out of the squad and Rhonnie Owens takes a place on the bench. Rhian Wilmott keeps hold of the No 10 shirt with Awen Thomas on the bench for the second consecutive game.
Pip Minto retains her place on the flank with Jackie Morgan on the bench and Helen Edwards replaces Sue Grainger in the second row.
UWIC winger Hayley Baxter earns her first cap with Claire Flowers relegated to the bench and fellow UWIC player, prop Jenny Davies, will be hoping for her first cap as she starts on the bench.
France beat England 22-17 a fortnight ago and Wales will be hoping that they can do the same and turn their Six Nations campaign around following their last two defeats. The game kicks off at 2.30pm.
