Wales Slump To Record Defeat At Twickenham

Two tries from Dan Luger in as many minutes in the second half ensured England not only claimed the Triple Crown, but remained on course to make it three Lloyds TSB Six Nations titles in a row.
Having ridden an early onslaught from gallant Wales, England extended their unbeaten run at Twickenham with a convincing performance.
It was outside half Jonny Wilkinson who was the major catalyst and his 30 points not only made him England’s record points scorer against Wales, eclipsing Dusty Hare in the record books, but were a record against the men in red for England.
Tim Stimpson’s injury time try also made it a record breaking afternoon for England over Wales, their winning margin of 40 points bettering their previous high of 34.
A disputed Will Greenwood try after 11 minutes, when Craig and Kevin Morgan seemed to have held the ball up over the line, set England on their way and gave them a 10 point lead.
By half-time they were 19-3 to the good and a Wilkinson try and conversion three minutes after the break gave them an even bigger advantage.
That two try blitz from Luger then helped extend the English lead to 40 points, but Wales hit back with their best period of the match and were rewarded with a try and conversion from Iestyn Harris.
But Stimpson’s final try, awarded by the video referee, completed the rout and maintained England’s massive advantage over Wales in recent seasons.
