Wales U19 Women’s Rugby Squad
With 61-0 and 25-3 victories over the Swedish, the preparation for the English clash has been spot on and the squad are quietly confident over their chances against the old enemy.
Captained by UWIC’s Marie Bancroft, the squad includes senior international scrum half Kerry Jenkins as well as senior squad members Angharad Phillips, Lucy Pike and Gemma Allen.
They provide the experience and this is matched with the youthfulness of new faces like Jess Kidley from Llandaff North and Sara Weldon from Caernarfon.
Director of rugby Richard Hodges commented: ” This squad have been together for several months now and have prepared well. We know the size of the task ahead of us, particularly as the majority of the English girls go to the same school together in Bath, but we will give them a run for their money and I can assure you this squad contains many future internationals.”
Squad:
Elen Evans, Vicky McGrath, Christie Thompson, Sara Weldon, Stacie Hardie, Kim Boaler, Paula Mullen, Gemma Allen, Jess Kidley, Kerry Jenkins, Sam Mason, Eirlys Lougher, Ruth Copeland, Marie Bancroft (CAPT), Becky Dando, Vicky Gaylard, Angharad Phillips, Lucy Pike, Catrina Nicholas, Aimee Jones, Kath Sharp and Amy Kelland.
