Llanelli Stay At The Top Of The Table And On Course For A Title Treble

LLANELLI 40, GLASGOW 14
Llanelli warmed-up for their Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Leicester with a runaway victory that keeps them on top of the Welsh/Scottish League.
Wales wing Mark Jones, who has missed so much of the season through injury, made up for lost time with a hat-trick of tries and international centre Leigh Davies was again a major influence.
Scarlets skipper Scott Quinnell spent 10 minutes in the sin-bin in the second half, but the home side had made the game safe with a great opening 40 minutes.
Davies and Jones crossed for tries in the opening 15 minutes and Gareth Bowen converted both. Bowen matched a penalty from opposite number Calvin Howarth to complete the first half scoring.
Two minutes after the break Jones ran in his second score, although the Scots made the most of Quinnell’s absence by forging a try for wing Jon Steel.
It was business as usual when the skipper returned and Jones completed his hat-trick before the end and fellow wing Salesi Finau grabbed a fifth try to ensure the Scarlets stay on course for a possible treble.
SCORERS
