Newport To Select From 24-man Squad For Glasgow Challenge
Newport coach Ian McIntosh will take a 24-strong squad to Scotland for Friday night’s crucial Welsh/Scottish League clash with Glasgow at Hughendon (kick-off 7.30 pm).
Despite their recent losing run, Newport are still in the hunt for the league title with three games left to play. After Glasgow on Friday night, the black and ambers face Pontypridd and Bridgend at home next week.
“There are still a few twists and turns left in the title race and the players believe that if they can regain their best form and win the final three games they could still challenge for the title,” said Newport team manager Jim McCreedy.
“The players know they have to win all three games to stand any chance of returning to the top of the table and that is the goal.”
