Welsh-scottish League Hots Up
Neath can clinch the title if they overcome Swansea at St Helen’s in tonight’s crunch clash.
But they will have to contain a marauding All Whites side who have enjoyed a rise in fortunes in recent weeks, culminating in their 24-20 victory over Cardiff last weekend.
The Welsh All Blacks have swept to the summit of the table and now stand on the brink of bagging the title.
But if they fail to win tonight there is a host of clubs ready to step into the breach. Cardiff, Llanelli and Newport all form part of the chasing pack and any one of them could steal the honours.
If Neath plunge to defeat tonight, Llanelli would scoop the title providing they can put Caerphilly and Cardiff to the sword in their final two games
But if the Scarlets slip up then Cardiff and Newport could spring to title glory. Cardiff face Bridgend tonight before completing their campaign on Friday against Llanelli.
Newport, who were clear favourites to clinch the title a few weeks ago, have been hit with a slide in fortunes. But the Black and Ambers have bounced back to give themselves an outside chance of ending up on top of the pile.
Their remaining fixtures see them lock horns with cup kings Pontypridd and Bridgend.
So the tension mounts as the chase for the championship looks poised to go right to the wire.
