England Squad To Face Wales In Cardiff

England Sevens Coach, Joe Lydon, today named his squad for the IRB World Sevens Series, Emirates Airline Cardiff Sevens, tournament to be held on June 1st and 2nd.
“I’m delighted with the 12 man squad we’ve selected. It not only features six full capped players but everyone in the squad has played in the IRB World Sevens Series this season. I’m pleased to welcome Pat Sanderson back to the squad after his injury. He was superb when he played for us in Durban at the end of last year and I expect him and the rest of the squad to use the tournament in Cardiff to push very hard for selection for the Commonwealth Games.
“All the players involved at Twickenham last weekend thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the crowd were superb on the Saturday. Cardiff now gives us a final opportunity to make the third rankings spot (currently shared with Fiji) ours by right.”
England face France, Russia and Wales in their pool group in Cardiff.
