UWIC enter the fray for the first time at home to Pontypridd (Cyncoed KO 2pm) with coach Ian Pritchard confident the players will more than hold their own. With current internationals Catrin Edwards and Kerry Jenkins in their ranks and Hayley Baxter and Naomi Thomas returning from injury, this should prove to be an exciting encounter. Ponty include Jamie Kift and Claire Flowers and will look to the youth of Jess Kidley and Vicky McGrath to come to the fore over the next few months.

Newport entertain Llanelli (Croesyceiliog RFC KO 2pm) with Welsh prop Dawn Mason heading the Gwent charge. Llanelli are led by current internationals Helen Edwards and Cath Walkley and have youth on their side through up and coming players like Eirlys Lougher and Rhian Rees.

The final game sees North Wales take on newcomers Swansea (Denbigh RFC KO 2pm) with Kylie Wilson captaining a young North team featuring Wales U19 internationals Ellen Evans and Ffion Jones. Swansea include current Welsh captain Melissa Berry alongside Loughborough’s Diane Lewis and Laura Prosser.

New National Squad coaches Phil John and Alun Harries will be out watching all potential players in readiness for the first international of the season against Canada on November 20th. With U19, ‘A’, Senior and many potential future internationals taking part, this seasons Super League should deliver the highest standard of domestic rugby ever seen in Wales.
