‘Ok so it wasn’t the best match ever, but it was fantastic to see the team in North Wales for a change – pity we don’t have more matches up here.’

‘Of course there was something to celebrate, Rhys Williams, Tom Shanklin, Sonny Parker and Mr Sidoli all looked very promising. So that’s 26% of the team sorted, therefore with three matches to go wewill have a good team ready for the All Blacks.
‘Also we didn’t concede a try and discipline (fighting) was under control. We also had a run out against what was much tougher opposition than we thought and this could prove invaluable.’

‘I was as critical as anyone of our performance – the lineouts and handling were frankly dreadful. However, it’s also worth considering that they were a very thrown-together side, and had very little warm-up together. I think the next three performances will show a marked improvement.
‘It’s also not possible to compare this with our previous encounter with Romania – as the Romanians were much better this time, and deserve some credit. They do have more or less two sides: the side we played last being made up of their contingent that play in the French Championship, very different to their side of a year or so ago’.
