And Hansen is also looking for a better performance than last Friday’s effort against Romania at the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham.

‘I thought we got a very good result against Romania without ever playing well,’ he said.

‘I want a decent performance and a decent result. We will need to be organised against a very physical side.

‘The present us with a very different challenge to Romania. They are all physically strong and as a race of people are great athletes.

‘They will look to keep the ball in hand and that is always a threat.’

‘As a squad we are making great progress and I am very happy with the way the preparations are going,’ said Hansen.

‘But I feel we need to step it up a level or two starting with Fiji, then Canada and ending with New Zealand.

‘I already know my team for the Kiwi game and have done for some time but as ever people can always force their way in with a good performance.’
