Llanelli skipper Leigh Davies: “It was fantastic to play the way we did and get a great win.

“We didn’t do too well in the last 20 minutes of the first half, but we came back with tremendous spirit in the second and that is what won us the game.

“We had a good talking to at half-time and the boys raised their game and we played some excellent rugby.

“They are a very good team and we gave them all the respect they deserved and we played really well against them.”

RUGBY ROVIGO 26 CAERPHILLY 22

Caerphilly coach Mark Ring: “It was typical Caerphilly performance. We played well took our chances but made some silly mistakes with the boot and we cannot afford to keep doing that.

“As ever we outscored our opponents but our kicking has let us down. If we can improve in that department, then I’m more than confident that we can record a victory as well as turn over the deficit.”

SWANSEA 26 BRISTOL SHOGUNS 19

Swansea coach John Connolly: “History tells us that it is going to be very tough.

“We’ve got two away games to come but we know that the quality of this competition is that anyone can beat anyone.

“I know that is the old adage, but we are taking each game at a time. We haven’t given up on it.

“If it happens it is wonderful, but we just want to play well every week and everything else will look after itself.”

NORTHAMPTON 25 CARDIFF 11

Cardiff coach David Young: “I think in fairness Northampton deserved to win.

“They were very good up front, their set-pieces went well and they had a very effective pick and go game around the fringes.

“We played a very good team and came off second best.”

NEWPORT 16 LONDON IRISH 12

Newport coach Leigh Jones: “Our defence was superb and it reflected the extra work the lads had put in.

“The month lay-off allowed us a mini pre-season and we have come back a much better prepared side than perhaps we were start of the season.

“Getting the home win has given us the confidence we need to travel to London Irish next week.”
