Wales are bracing themselves for a Scottish onslaught when they meet for their RBS Six Nations basement battle in Edinburgh on Saturday.
Neither side has managed a victory in the championship yet and both will be desperate to end their miserable runs.
So Wales coach Steve Hansen knows Scotland will come at them with all guns blazing at Murrayfield.
“This Scottish side have been slandered from pillar to post and the coaches told they should be sacked so we know they are going to throw the kitchen sink at us,” said Hansen.
“We are going to have to do what is needed to control the game and frustrate them.
“I think we have picked a team to do that.”
Hansen has made two changes to the side that went down 26-9 to England at the Millennium Stadium a fortnight ago as well as naming Cardiff flanker Martyn Williams as the new Wales captain.
Williams takes over from former clubmate Jonathan Humphreys who has been ruled out with a shoulder injury suffered while playing for Bath last week.
Humphreys’ place at hooker has been taken by Bridgend youngster Gareth Williams who will make his first international start having come off the bench for his first caps in the defeats to Italy and England.
There is not such good news for young Ceri Sweeney who not only finds his place in the starting line-up taken by fit-again outside-half Stephen Jones but also misses out on a place on the replacements bench to former rugby league star Iestyn Harris.
Jones said: “I’m delighted to be back in the team after being out for three weeks and it’s always a great honour to play for your country.
“Everyone is expecting a tough game as we always seem to struggle against Scotland. They beat us in Cardiff last year and fought back to earn a draw at Murrayfield the year before that.”
