The £2.15 million generated surpasses the £2.1 million revenue from the match against Ireland last month.

Scottish Rugby’s Ticket Manager, Colin Douglas, reported today that only “a handful” of tickets remain available for tomorrow’s match meaning that once again Murrayfield will attract a 67,500 capacity audience.

He said: “Anyone still looking to buy a ticket for the match can try the SRU website(www.sru.org.uk <http://www.sru.org.uk/ > ) orthe SECC credit card hotline (Tel 0870 040 1925) but I would urge them to be quick as we only have a handful remaining.”

Scottish Rugby’s Commercial and Marketing Director Phil Anderton said: “It’s our responsibility to go out to the people of Scotland, our rugby club members and debenture holders among them, and generate cash that we can re-invest in the game. The fact that we have set new record revenues is
very important for the well-being of the game at all levels in Scotland.

“While the international sponsorship market and commercial climate for the Six Nations Championship in general is tough, the support we have received through our efforts on our own doorstep is generating these record levels of revenue.”

“Bear in mind we are achieving that with a price range of adult tickets from £20-£50 and that we have child/student concessions (priced from £10-£25) in every category of seat at Murrayfield,” he added.
