3 mins: Great play from Wales, Craig Morgan makes the break down the left hand side. Ruck forms, Colin Charvis breaks the gain line, good hands through the backs and Gareth Thomas touches down in the corner. Jones misses the conversion. (0-5)

6 mins: An excellent kick from Jones falls nicely for Craig Morgan, who struggles to ground the ball. Video ref is called – but no try.

9 mins: France fighting back, Ibanez pushes for line, but is held up.

10 mins: Olivier Brouzet knocks on as he tries to dive over the line.

13 mins: Frederic Michalak misses a drop goal attempt, but Wales concede a penalty in front of the posts, Yachvili fails to score.

19 mins: Damian Traille called offside. Jones misses the 40m. penalty goal attempt.

20 mins: Charvis knocks-on from the restart. Both sides exchange kicks

22 mins: Michalek opens the game up with a clever chip, but Martyn Willaims wins the race to the ball, but concedes a penalty

23 mins: From the resulting lineout France cause problems, Castaignede seems destined to score in the corner, but Charvis saves the day with a decisive tackle.

25 mins: France dominating possession and territory, but Wales are making the tackles that count.

27 mins: Excellent try from France, the forwards drove to the line, the ball was passed out wide, and Castaignede ran in on the angle to score under the posts. Yachvili’s conversion gives the French the lead. (7-5)

31 mins: Wales defence holding firm.

35 mins: Wales penalised for handling in the ruck and Yachvili punishes them with his first penalty goal. (10-5)

38 mins: Jones misses another penalty goal after Serge Betsen is caught offside.

40 mins: Michalak makes another fine break, but the flick pass back inside is intercepted by Charvis.

40+2 mins: France win the scrum, from the resulting possession Michalak misses a simple drop goal attempt 10m out straight in front.

HALF TIME: FRANCE 10 WALES 5

42 mins: Xavier Garbajosa swerves, sidesteps the defence and makes a 30-metre run, Yachvili, Betsen, Traille, the ball is flying through French hands, but Gethin Jenkins is pulled up for a high tackle. France opt to kick to the corner rather than take the easy three.

43 mins: France go for the catch and drive, but Tom Shanklin and Charvis drive France back.

45 mins: Intense pressure in the Wales 22, but Ibanez drops the ball as he crosses the try-line, but the ref pulls the game back for a previous infringement, and Yachvili’s second penalty goal extends the advantage. (13-5)

49 mins: Wales pinned back in their own 22, and looking tired.

51 mins: Wales sliced open by a free flowing France attack involving Michalak, Castaignede and Poitrenaud. Vincent Clerc finishes the move with a 10-metre dash to the line on the right hand side. Yachvili nails the conversion. (20-5)

59 mins: France’s forwards trying to pile over, when quick ball to the backs would have been a better option.

61 mins: Yachvili’s left boot adds three more points after Wales are penalised at the ruck (23-5)

64 mins: Colin Charvis sin binned for coming in at the side of a ruck.

67 mins: Frederic MichalakT scores the third French try. Yachvili converts (30-5)

72 mins: Wales under real pressure caught offside. Yachvili rubs salt into the wound with his fourth penalty goal. (33-5)

75 mins: Wales are still plugging away but are struggling to get out of their own half.

78 mins: France win numerous penalties, and are pushing for the try, but can’t quite cross.

80 mins: The final whistle. Wales are consigned to the whitewash.
