Another member of Cardiff’s Cup-winning Under-21 team, James Goode, will make his Welsh League debut against Llanelli at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday night (kick-off 7.05pm).

The 20-year-old lock came on as a replacement against Bourgoin in a pre-season friendly but makes his debut start against the Scarlets.

The team is captained by centre Pieter Muller, while winger Nick Walne plays his 27th club game of the season.

Unavailable for selection, as well as seven long-term injured players and five Wales national squad members, were Emyr Lewis (dead leg), Craig Morgan (shoulder), Ryan Powell (broken thumb) and three locks – brothers John and Luke Tait and Heino Senekal (ankle).

The Llanelli coaching staff, coming off a 24-29 loss to Pontypridd on Wednesday night, will name their team an hour before kick-off.
