Press Release From Welsh Rugby Union
Wales team manager Alan Phillips has confirmed the squad to tour Australia and New Zealand missed their 4pm flight to Heathrow this afternoon (Mon).
The Wales squad was initially delayed at the team’s Cardiff base, the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel, Hensol, this morning while players underwent protracted negotiations with WRU management.
And further delays, due to an accident at junction 13 of the M4 motorway, left the squad unable to make their flight.
“We are currently making arrangements for an overnight stay in London,” said Phillips.
“We hope to be catching the next available flight and will let everyone know our movements as soon as possible, but this is obviously a very frustrating time for all involved.”
