Wales Are Dressed For Success

Wales’ Rugby World Cup squad were dressed for success today to launch their new association with Eden Park – as the “official supplier of formal wear” for the national side.
The deal will mean the Wales team and management will be kitted out in style at all formal occasions for the tournament in Australia, with the connection lasting until 2005.
“The Eden Park collection is synonymous with effortless elegance – well cut and well made,” said head of Eden Park UK, Thomas Serbeland.
“The Welsh players will look dashing, distinguished and debonair, wearing a beautifully tailored, fine wool two-piece suit in dark grey with a blue pinstripe.
“It has the quintessential Eden Park trademarks – oval rugby ball shaped buttons, the striking horizontal striped lining and of course, the pink bow tie motif hidden under the collar.
“Underneath the shirt is a superfine cotton in cornflower blue with the collar cut in the high fashion Italian style. Again the buttons reflect the rugby heritage with their oval shape.”
The suits have been tailored to fit the team, but the original is available in store and would cost around £350.00, the shirts cost £75.00.
“We are pleased to be associated with such a major brand as Eden Park and welcome the new influx of style the company has brought to the squad and management team,” said WRU group commercial manager Gwyn Thomas.
“The clothing really is the epitome of style and French ‘haute couture’ and maybe a little of that Gallic flair will rub off.”
All 50 members of the Welsh squad will be dressed by Eden Park and the kit includes a super fine wool coat in dark grey.
“The suits are certainly top quality and the whole squad are impressed with the enthusiasm the Eden Park tailors have shown in getting us all measured up and looking our best,” added Wales fly-half Stephen Jones.
“We need to play as good as we look when we get out to Australia, but it is true that if you feel comfortable and things feel right off the pitch you improve the chances of things clicking into place when you get on it.”
