Who Will You Vote For?

Opinion is divided in Wales. When wru.co.uk asked who will be the top performing Welsh side in the Celtic League, voting records showed that fans were split between three sides, the Ospreys, the Warriors, and the Scarlets.

The opening round of fixtures in the Celtic League has given hope that Wales’ regional sides may now have the firepower to keep up with the bigger sides in European Rugby.

When The Ospreys leaked three tries in the first half against Ulster, the 1999 European champions, there were far too many familiar signs on the pitch, and familiar mutterings in the stands for those who had hoped Welsh rugby had turned a corner.

But in an inspirational second half performance, the newly formed side led by Scott Gibbs turned on the style, to bury Ulster with a steely performance that must inspire confidence.

Speaking of confidence, there can be no more buoyant side in Wales than Lynn Howells’ Celtic Warriors. A seemingly perfect fusion of Ponty forwards and Ravens backs, the Warriors rolled over The Borders with ease.

The other side voters have been supporting is the Scarlets. Consistency is on Gareth Jenkins’ side, and even without a number of players away at the World Cup, the likes of Scott Quinnell and Chris Wyatt performed well in the Scarlets’ win against Gwent Dragons.

So far all these sides have roughly 30 per cent of the vote – Who do you fancy? – VOTE NOW
