After their thrilling win over Leinster at Sardis Road last weekend, Lynn Howells’ men will be looking for more of the same from their other home venue.
The Warriors will be without centre Jonny Bryant (ankle ligaments) and backrower Nick Kelly (knee) for the match, as well as nine players on World Cup duty.
Shaun James replaces Bryant, while New Zealand-born flanker Cory Harris comes in for Kelly. In other changes from the Leinster win, Wales Under-21 star Matthew Nuthall comes in for fullback Kevin Morgan, the promising Ryan Jones replaces Deiniol Jones at lock, and Martin Jones slots in at tighthead prop at the expense of Chris Horsman.
Glasgow have made seven changes to the team who started the 6-33 loss to Ulster last Friday.
Rory Kerr, Joe Naufahu, Matthew Proudfoot and Donnie Macfadyen are all out.
Andrew Wilson replaces Macfadyen at openside, Joe Beardshaw comes in for Nathan Ross at lock, while Andrew Kelly and Lee Harrison will start at prop instead of Euan Murray and Proudfoot as the props.
Gareth Maclure and Sean Lamont replace Kerr and Jon Steel on the wings, and Alan Bulloch comes in for Naufahu at inside centre.
The other Welsh side in action on Friday night are the Neath-Swansea Ospreys, who travel to Dublin to take on Leinster.
Lyndon Bateman (ankle), Steve Tandy (flu), Scott Gibbs (flu), Barry Williams (back) and Andrew Millward (ankle) are struggling to be fit, and coach Lyn Jones will name his side just before kick-off.
On Saturday, the Llanelli Scarlets host the Gwent Dragons at Stradey Park in a repeat of the first round of the Celtic League.
Mike Ruddock’s Gwent side lost that match 11-35, and they expect to another tough game.
“Playing at home gives them an advantage, but having faced them only two weeks ago we know what to expect,” Dragons team manager Jim McCreedy said.
“Our win against the Ospreys has given us a boost and we are pleased that areas we have been working on in training have started to come right on the playing field.
“We know we are the underdogs but anything can happen in a cup competition.”
Steve Jones replaces Paul Young (rib) at hooker in the only change to the side who beat the Ospreys 29-19 in Newport last Friday.
The Scarlets have been hit by a neck injury to former Wales captain Scott Quinnell, with veteran Emyr Lewis coming in.
Other changes involve Dale Burn moving from the left wing to scrum-half to replace Mike Phillips, Richard Rees starting on the wing and Adam Jones making way for Vernon Cooper at lock.
The fifth Welsh side, the Cardiff Blues, have a bye in the first round of the Cup. The draw for the quarter-finals will be made immediately after the Scarlets-Dragons match.
