Leaders Newport travel to Caerphilly, while second-placed Neath visit the Arms
Park to take on Cardiff, where only a few weeks ago the Ospreys were well
beaten by the Blues.

Aberavon against Bridgend should provided a close-fought fully-committed encounter as should third-placed Carmarthen Quins at home to Swansea, where Quins skipper Paul Arnold will attempt to put one over on the Swansea coaches Tony Clement and Keith Colclough, both former teammates of Arnie at St Helen’s.

In Gwent there are two derby matches with Ebbw Vale and Cross Keys meeting at
Eugene Cross Park and Pontypool facing newbridge at Pontypool Park.

The latter air have players who have been with both clubs and the opposing coaches – Steve
Jones (Pontypool) and Mike Watkins(Newbridge) have formerly been in opposition
as hookers.

Llanelli’s young squad will come up against a Llandovery side that is in the best of form and spirits, while Pontypridd skipper Dale McIntosh overcame what had seemed to be a bad injury against Aberavon by playing again last week. His side will face Bedwas, who are a far better side than results show.

In the other divisions of the Lloyds TSB Welsh National League there are few matches with none in Division One and only Llantrisant against bottom club Penygraig in Two East.

Three East provides only Newport HSOB against the dangerous Cardiff-based
Llanishen club, but in Three West there will be five games: – Aberystwyth v Gowerton; Lampeter v Hendy; Llandeilo v Tenby; Penclawdd v Trimsaran and Pontarddulais v Tumble.

Pentyrch take on Ynysybwl in Three South-East and in Three South West Glynneath
have rearranged with Ystradgynlais while second-placed Maesteg Quins take on
the improving Kenfig Hill side.

Pembroke Dock Quins will meet Tycroes in Four West and the only other matches are in Five East where Usk host Gwernyfed and St Albans travel to RTB (Ebbw Vale).
