A Few Tickets Left For Wales V France

The second of Wales’ three home matches in the RBS Six Nations Championship is on course to be a 74,000 sell-out despite the fact the French have returned some of their tickets.
“The last few hundred tickets for Sunday’s game against the unbeaten French side will be available to fans at the Millennium Stadium shop in St Mary Street, Cardiff this week, although we don’t expect the supply to last long,” said Millennium Stadium manager Paul Sergeant.
“The French Rugby Federation returned some of their allocation to us at the end of last week and we are confident they will all be sold before the weekend to provide the Welsh Rugby Union with a 74,000+ crowd.
“That will take the number of spectators at the Millennium Stadium this year to more than 267,000 at only four events – Wales v Scotland in the Six Nations, Wales v Scotland in a soccer friendly, Middlesbrough v Bolton Wanderers in the Carling Cup final and Wales v France – to give us an average attendance of almost 67,000.
“There is no other venue in the UK that can boast an average attendance as high as that. In fact, I would doubt there is anywhere in Europe that can match it.
“And with more than 60,000 tickets sold for the final Six Nations clash with Italy, and 58,000 of the 64,000 capacity for the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in June already gone, the Millennium Stadium is on course for a record breaking year in terms of attendances.”
Those tickets remaining for Sunday’s game against France (kick-off 3.00pm) are priced at £42 and £29 and will be available from the Millennuim Stadium Shop, 98, St Mary Street, Cardiff to personal callers.
