Newport Saracens moved into contention in the race for promotion in East with a 41-5 victory at neighbours Newport HSOB. Two of Saries six tries came from former Ebbw Vale wing Steve Reed, one of them a storming run from his own half. Second-placed Llanishen slipped up with a 13-3 loss at Old Illtydians and Senghenydd also fell, away to Pill Harriers.
Taffs Well were the only club in South East to host a match but it was an unhappy afternoon as they went down 22-3 to leaders Nantymoel. Pontyberem rolled on towards the West title with their 18th win from 19 outings. Theydefeated Trimsaran 42-5 to remain six points clear at the top of the table.
Kidwelly moved into second spot after winning 24-7 at Pontarddulais. In the match at Tumble where the visitors were Gorseinon, there was a long delay while Tumble flanker Colin Hopkins was airlifted by helicopter to Morriston Hospital after suffering a neck injury

Maesteg Quins edged closer to leaders Banwen in South West after their 10-0 win over Nantyffyllon. Mumbles were far too good for Ystalyfera, racking up a convincing 72-10 success while Bryncoch won 29-18 at Ammanford and Glynneath were 37-0 winners at lowly Ystradgynlais.
DIVISION FOUR.
Newtown racked up seven tries in their 50-0 success over winless Bala in North to move up three places in the division.
It was a good team performance capped by a brilliant display from full back Mike Belamore who scored 20 points as well as setting up three tries. Wrexham did well to claim a 3-0 victory over visitors Rhyl while Dolgellau won 31-19 at Caernarfon.
In South East, Cowbridge defeated Penarth 33-20 with Rhys Llewellyn claiming two of their five tries; Bedlinog won 12-3 at Heol y Cyw and Pontycymmer routed Pontyclun 47-10.
Only two games beat the frozen pitches in West where Laugharne closed in on the leaders after beating Bynea 39-14 and Neyland won 20-3 at Tycroes.
Just three games were played in South West and Cwmgors took full advantage to move level at the top with leaders Briton Ferry after winning 49-34 at Pyle.
In the East, Cardiff HSOB needed the help of a penalty try to beat Ynysddu 16-10 and in a close encounter at Monmouth, the home side drew 24-24 with St Peter’s with both teams running in a hat-trick of tries.
DIVISION FIVE.
Llandaff moved ever closer to the South-East title with a hard-fought 17-14 success in the derby game at Llandaff North. They have only two matches remaining and barring accidents are likely to be the first champions crowned in Wales this season. Losing 14-3 at the interval, they hit back with tries by Richard Lester and Simon Lewis.
Only one match took place in North with Rhos and Colwyn Bay finishing level at 10-10. Bangor’s game at Welshpool was one of those affected by the weather.
Every game suffered from the frozen pitches in the West, but the South-West fared a little better with only the one match postponed. Aberavon Green Stars moved to within seven points of Resolven after winning 19-5 at Pontardawe and Tonna dented Crynant’s hopes title after beating them 21-7.
Oakdale took advantage of leaders Trinant not playing in the East as they
gained a good 18-12 win away to Gwernyfed.
