Lock Mike Griffiths, skipper and centre Nathan Walters and wing Dafydd Cantwell churned over the Welfare Ground for tries and Nathan’s cousin, Gareth Walters, kicked two penalties and a conversion.

Tries by Tom Taylor and Rob Walters for Kidwelly sent them on the road to a 25-13 win over league leaders Pontyberem in the West and they are now level on top. Gorseinon kept in close pursuit with a 33-6 blitzing of lowly Gowerton.

Five penalties by outside half John Hughes and a touchdown by full back Grant Morris gave Llanishen a 20-20 draw against Pill Harriers in East, where Senghenydd beat Abercarn 22-10 to take over at the top after Brynithel’s match against Newport HSOB was postponed.

Banwen made it 17 wins from 18 in South West after slamming Skewen 58-6 but close rivals Maesteg Quins were taken much closer at Glynneath before edging home 22-17. Mumbles are the team in form and a 42-6 romp against Seven Sisters keeps them firmly in third place.
