Fly half Peredur Ellis sperarheaded the home effort, but on this occasion his try and two conversions were not enough to gain victory and Ruthin won 18-7 at Dollgellau as Gareth Edwards and Ieuan Ellis scored tries and veteran John Tudor kicked eight points.

There is still all to play for in South West with Cwmgors beating Abercrave 29-15 to remain a point clear of Taibach who were 61-17 victors at Cefn Cribbwr. Briton Ferry are a point further behind after their 34-13 success at Maesteg Celtic.
Llanelli Wanderers won 32-3 at bottom club Bynea, Pembroke Dock Quins sneaked home 14-12 at Llandybie, and Loughor won 12-3 at Neyland to all remain level at the top of West.
