Neath Excited About Millennium Final

“That would be a tremendous final if we both made it through,” said Neath skipper Paul Jones (prop).

“There’s been plenty of passion between the two clubs already this season but a third meeting in Cardiff would settle it. But first we must win our semi-final to think about a possible game against the Wizards.

“Over the years we have enjoyed some memorable days out in Cardiff and hopefully we could give the fans another and comeback with some silverware.

“Hopefully by then we would be going for the league and cup double. We have to hope Newport slip up in the league but right now the chance is still there and we won’t take our foot off the pedal.”
Neath coach Rowland Phillips said (before the draw):

“The cup this season has shown that people’s passion and interest is as high as ever. It is a competition that Neath have been successful in over the years.

“It is also now the only competition where we have control over our own destiny, as in the league we need others to do favours for us in beating Newport.”

Caerphilly coach Roger Bidgood, the former Wales centre, stated: “I did not won a semi-final as a player, so I hope we can go on to secure a final place.”
