Barkley made his England debut as a 19-year-old against the United States in San Francisco as a replacement. He is a surprise replacement after being omitted from Sir Clive Woodward’s twenty-two man squad earlier in the week.

Grayson has withdrawn from the team because of the calf injury he collected when training on Tuesday. Mike Catt remains on the bench.
