PLAYER OF THE MONTH. MARK BOWEN (Llangennech).

After running in 22 tries to help his club gain promotion from Division Two last season, centre Mark Bowen has gathered another 21 this season, despite missing several matches through injury.

His play with former Wales under-21 cap Paul Davies has made the pair the most exciting of all midfield partnerships in the division.

In February he Ascored two thrilling tries against Bonymaen – the second from near halfway with a swerving run; then he gained an injury-time winner again from halfway as he intercepted at Carmarthen.
The final match at Narberth saw him again run in two tries and it cannot be long before he plays in the Premier Division.

COACH OF THE MONTH. SHAUN LEE (Rumney).

Rumney lost nearly a full fifteen players last summer and coach Lee, a former club centre and captain, had to call on almost his entire youth team to come forward.

Despite numerous injuries the Rumney fight for survival has continued and Lee, older brother of scrum halves Terry (Cardiff, Pontypool & SW Police) and Keith (Pontypridd & Newport), has always advocated running rugby with 73 tries coming from 21 matches -better than six clubs in higher positions.

Rumney gained a surprise win at Blackwood, despite having their two kickers injured and then defeated Tredegar in style to gain a fourth win in five matches.

Shaun retired from the game after a serious injury sustained outside the sport, but began the road to coaching from youth levels and is a very respected man who has put back a great deal to the sport he loves.
