France, who had already thrashed Scotland by 61-0, recorded their second win over Wales this year, having won 25-14 at Bridgend on March 5.
Though outside half Aled Thomas (Carmarthen Quins) opened the scoring with a penalty goal, France took the lead through a try by their captain, scrum half Fabien Cibray.
The talented French side ran in another three tries to gain a bonus point and will now meet South Africa in the next round of games, while Wales will be up against an Argentinian side who lost 29-6 to South Africa before defeating Scotland by 24-15 yesterday.
