Competition for both the East and West titles hot up as Builth Wells and Fleur de Lys appear most likely to fight it out in the East and Tonmawr andDunvant are the main contenders in the West.
Builth go to Risca and Fleur entertain Llantwit Fardre this weekend, but the best match could be at Ystrad Rhondda, where Rhymney come in search of much-needed points.
Dunvant have a massive match away to third-placed Bridgend Athletic, while Tonmawr have a home game against Felinfoel and the Corus-Pencoed match could prove entertaining.
DIVISION 3.
Top match in the East is at Newport’s Civil Service Ground, where Newport Saracens take on leaders Senghenydd. The Sarries aim for the double and a win is necessary to boost their late bid for the title. Brynithel against Abergavenny and Llanishen away to Pontypool United are both games to watch.
In the South-East, Treherbert’s rejuvenation must continue against Nantymoel, but leaders Gilfach Goch are without a match. In the South-West,
Banwen have injury problems prior to entertaining Glynneath in the league and meeting Bargoed in the first Silver Ball semi-final next Monday. Maesteg Quins and Mumbles look likely to gain victories and keep up the challenge.
Pontyberem are home to Tumble; Kidwelly away to Penclawdd and Haverfordwest home to Tenby in the West, where Gorseinon, who visit Llandeilo, appear to be running out of matches.
DIVISION 4.
Rearranged fixtures are the order of the day in the five sections of Division Four with Bargoed in the East being the only title winners thus far. Blaina need one point from their match with Cardiff HSOB at Central Park to take the runners-up spot. Abercwmboi, Pontycymmer and Fairwater fight out the South-East title but Fairwater have three homes in their four available outings.
The South-West title is between Cwmgors, Taibach and Alltwen, with the latter emerging as dark horses and a win at Pyle will improve their title chances.
The West is the tightest of all divisions as Llanelli Wanderers, Pembroke Dock Quins and Loughor are all on 48 points, though Loughor still have four matches to play, beginning at home to Llandybie. The Wanderers entertain Neyland and the Quins are at home to Betws.
In the North, Nant Conwy have seven matches remaining against the four by leaders Ruthin. However, today is the crunch meeting for the two clubs, at Nant Conwy.
DIVISION 5.
Trinant have taken the East title and play their last match, at home to runners-up Oakdale, while Llandaff have won in the South-East and Llantwit Major fight out the runners-up spot with Llandaff North.
Colwyn Bay lead Denbigh by a point in the North, but the latter have two games in hand, while in the West Crymych lead Cefneithin by three points with each having four matches to play.
South-West leaders are Aberavon Green Stars, but Resolven are still favourites and Tonna are chasing hard. The green Stars hold the key as they meet both other clubs next month.
