Tonmawr could end a memorable season by lifting the Division Two West title after hearing that close rivals Dunvant had stumbled away to Bridgend Athletic, who moved to second, but trail Tonmawr by three points, while Birchgrove failed to appear at Cwmllynfell, yet Aberavon Quins amazingly beat Vardre 37-31.

In the East, Builth Wells gained a win at Risca and then heard were surprised to hear that rivals Fleur de Lys had stumbled to a 29-8 home loss to Llantwit Fardre.

The 112-0 win by Abercynon was the tenth century of points against Penygraig. Ian Withey (4), Lyndon Lewis (3) and two each by David Jones and Huw Davies led the Cynon to 16 tries and Matthew Turner passed 300 points with 11 conversions and a try. His brother Geraint also crossed the Penygraig line.

Croesyceliog gained a good 26-12 win at Llantrisant with Steve Thomas gaining two of their four tries and Rhymney’s Justin Pinch gained the vital score as they won at Ystrad Rhondda, despite a late home try by Robert Davies.
