“This tournament doesn’t forgive you if you miss your chances. We have only got ourselves to blame – it was a game we lost rather than Toulouse won,” he said. “There isn’t a lot to be concerned about – the pack played very well, our defence was solid and we could have won the game. But the Heineken Cup is about making the most of three or four moments in a game. We had those moments and didn’t deal with them. We will have to be more clinical at Northampton.”
Heineken Man of the Match Dwayne Peel was refusing to panic and still believes the Scarlets can reach the knock-out stage.
“It isn’t impossible to get out of this Pool, but we have to go away and get some victories – starting at Northampton this weekend,” he said. “We will probably have to win all of our remaining games, which is going to be very difficult, but we can still go through. We will have to go to Northampton full of confidence. We will have to look inside ourselves this week and find the confidence and self-belief we need to win.”
