DONALD LEAVES OSPREYS
Donald, who has been in post for the past year and was brought in to establish the commercial department at the club, has overseen a highly successful period for the Ospreys, in which they have climbed to the top of the Celtic League. In addition, Donald has played a critical role in overseeing the Club’s move to the New Stadium at Morfa, scheduled to open in late Summer 2005
Donald said “The past year has been a fantastic challenge for me and it’s extremely rewarding to see the Ospreys doing so well on the pitch and off it. Now that all necessary systems are in place to support the Club’s more sophisticated commercial operation and that the plans for the Club’s move to Morfa are established, I feel it’s a good time for me to move on and look for a fresh challenge.”
Ospreys Chairman Mike James had kind words to say about his out-going chief executive.
“Andrew’s done a superb job and will be sorely missed, however we respect his decision to move on to a new challenge and to take on a new brief. We will not be looking for a replacement for Andrew and instead his responsibilities will be absorbed by Ospreys joint-managing director’s Mike Cuddy and Roger Blyth who will, in turn, take on a more “hands on” role in the club¹s day to day operations.”
