Division 1
After finding that their draw on December 4 was a point gained when the nearest clubs all lost, Maesteg pulled clear at the top by defeating closest rivals Glamorgan Wanderers 22-17 at Llynfi Road. A try-count of 3-1 told the story that only the 12 points from the boot of Mark Heywood had kept the Wanderers in the game.
 
Narberth fell to a shock 23-18 home defeat against Fleur de Lys as late tries by Brett Green and former Wales flanker Glen George turned the game. Llangennech moved to second, but only just made it at Blackwood by 11-6 and Whitland raced up the league after a 38-0 win at bottom club Brynmawr.
 
UWIC fly half Phil Dolman contributed 16 of the 36-0 win by the students over Bridgend Athletic and Brett Davey notched 13 as Beddau won at Tonmawr, while Builth Wells skipper Lyndon Hammonds notched a try in their 21-13 win at Carmarthen Athletic.
 
Division 2
Newport Saracens not only defeated Rumney 22-0 in the East to share eight victories each with Ystrad Rhondda, who just held off Merthyr by 21-19. Former Wales Districts cap Darren Gregg landed five penalty goals and a conversion for the Saracens.
 
With Rumney and Abercynon losing, they were joined on 21 points by Llantwit Fardre, who defeated Risca 54-12, and Treherbert, who won 22-18 at Treorchy. Croesyceiliog gained a splendid 27-13 win over Abercynon and ran in our tries.
 
West leaders Waunarlwydd nearly went to sleep in the second half against a game Pencoed side, who finally lost 29-10. Cwmllynfell kept up their challenge by thrashing Kidwelly 37-12 and Felinfoel had a fine 27-26 win at Cwmavon.
 
Division 3
Loughor not only took the lead in the West, but also retained their unbeaten record as they knocked Gorseinon from the top with a 16-7 success. Just as Loughor look strong in their group, so do Bargoed in the East and they recorded a 69-0 home win over bottom club Dinas Powys to gain their eleventh straight success this season.
 
It’s still a dog-fight in the South-East as Mountain Ash and Rhydyfelin both won, but Rhydfelin have a game in hand and they were in good form to defeat a very game Pentyrch side by 58-27, while The Old Firm were 45-11 winners at Tylorstown.
 
There were shock galore in the South-West as leaders Bryncoch fell 11-10 at home to Skewen and both Vardre and Maesteg Quins also lost. Alltwen held off Vardre 26-3 and the Quins fell 19-18 away to Seven Sisters.
 
Division 4
Fairwater took a further stride forward at the head of the South-East, finding  after their 52-15 win at Pontyclun that Aberdare had lost their unbeaten record as they fell 19-16 to Llandaff North at Cardiff’s Hailey Park pitch. Penarth kept up by beating Cowbridge 50-17 to record the double in the league, plus a win in the cup.
 
Amman Utd lead the West after turning back Cefneithin 24-6, but Neyland maintained their challenge with 27-7 success at Betws. In the North, the top match saw Llangefni win 12-10 at Colwyn Bay while Mold moved to second after beating Denigh 30-12.
 
Resolven and Tonna both won again in the South-West with the former leading by six points, though Tonna have two games in a hand. The East leadership of 24 points is shared by Crumlin (who defeated Chepstow 25-22), Pontllanfraith, Trinant and Monmouth, who lost 24-24 at Trinant. Pontllanfraith edged out Tredegar Ironsides by a try to nil.
 
Division 5
It was all as you were in the East, where the top four clubs all won with Nantyglo having a five-point gap after winning 29-16 at Usk. Bala took their lead to nine points in the North after a 62-12 win at Rhos as Bethesda went down 30-11 at Wrexham.
 
Pembroke remain unbeaten after 11 wins in the West and are six points in front of Llangwm and New Dock Stars, whose meeting saw the latter gain a 8-7 away win.
 
South Wales Police ran up the days highest score as they thrashed Deri by 100-0 in the South-East with Justin Lott notching 35 points from a try hat-trick and ten conversions. Both Porth and Penallta were left without fixtures.
 
The 12-12 draw between Crynant and Glyncorrwg in the South-West let Abercrave in to take over at the top, after defeating Cefn Cribbwr 34-5.
