Morgan hopeful for international return
Morgan has won all twenty-seven caps for Wales as a full-back but has been unable to hold onto the No.15 jersey from Percy Montgomery at the Dragons. Having been desperate to prove he has shaken off the ‘sick-note’ tag that has plagued his career, he is now eager to show Mike Ruddock that he can wing-it out wide.
“I’ve always said that I see myself primarily as a full-back and if I had a choice that is definitely the where I prefer to play,” said Morgan. “So far it has worked out quite well, I’ve just had to get on with it and perhaps the move has even helped me in getting selected for the RBS Six Nations squad.
“It shows that I am a bit more versatile and that I can play in different positions. That versatility is useful for any coach to have. Mike hasn’t said anything to me about playing on the wing instead of full-back but he has never wanted to get too involved in regional matters, but the move has added another string to my bow.”
