However, Michael Owen, Martyn Williams, Gavin Henson, Shane Williams, Brent Cockbain and their colleagues will also spend the afternoon ensuring that the stars of the future are on the right course.

“We are obviously very busy with preparation for the France game but it is important to us to take time out to give something to the players of the future, we are also keen to develop greater leadership skills amongst the current squad,” said Wales Coach Mike Ruddock. “The plan involves one to one communication between a senior player and a younger player who plays in the same position.

“Rugby specific and fitness specific issues will be discussed in detail, so that the aspiring internationals will have a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to become a senior international.

“With the Rugby World Cup just two years away it is of paramount importance that we do everything we can to prepare our younger players who could challenge for places in that squad, but also grow and develop our senior internationals so that they can become even more rounded in terms of their leadership skills in particular.”
