KATHERINE AND CHARLOTTE TO TEAM UP FOR WALES V IRELAND GAME
The two singers were together when they met The Queen at Buckingham Palace last week at a special gathering of music industry luminaries. Prior to that, they met for the first time when they both featured on the world class bill that helped to raise £1.3m at the Tsunami Relief Cardiff concert at the Millennium Stadium on 22 January.
Katherine was back again a few weeks later when Bryn Terfel and Aled Jones joined her in singing the anthem before Wales beat England on 5 February and both she and Charlotte are hoping to inspire the Welsh team to another match winning performance.
While Katherine has become a regular at sporting events at the Millennium Stadium it will be the first time that Charlotte has sung at a Welsh rugby match.
“The choirs, soloists and band are an integral part of building the atmosphere at the Millennium Stadium on match day. We are very fortunate to have two of the best female soloists in the world gracing the hallowed turf of the Millennium Stadium on 19 March,” said Rupert Moon, of the Millennium Stadium.
Katherine Jenkins said: “I’m so thrilled that Charlotte and I are singing together before the Ireland game. Let’s hope we can bring the team luck and inspire them to play the game of their lives.”
Charlotte Church said: “Coming from a family of fanatical rugby fans I am absolutely honoured and delighted to be singing with Katherine at what could be the decisive game in the 2005 Six Nations Championship.”
