Geieg Ladies 0 – Llandaff North Girls 50
Unfortunately one of the two scheduled games had to be cancelled due to the travelling distance. The actual game played was on Saturday March 5th against Geieg Ladies R.F.C.who are based in Girona University.
Llandaff North started at a tremendous pace but the home team who are in their first season playing together, defended with the passion and aggression of a seasoned side. However when the side from Wales settled down, the game turned and began to flow in their favour.
Llandaff North hooker Nicki Lewis (who’s 37th birthday was match day) crossed the line to score her first ever try and celebrated in true Gareth Thomas style much to the amusement of the spectators. All 32 players played some part in the game but it was the U-19 team (Llandaff North Ladies 2nds) who played the majority with the younger players coming on for the last 10-15 minutes and also scoring.
Each player was supplied with full playing kit, tour polo shirts, tour T-shirts and a kit bag all paid for by money raised by the girls themselves. New player Sian Debono was awarded player of the tour for her true rugby player antics. (You can make up your own mind to what she got up to!)
