Karrie will be joined by two more Welsh singing stars, Aled Jones and Wyn Evans, in the two hour production that is being put together to honour the Welsh team’s first Grand Slam success for 27 years.
Both Jones and Evans played their part during the Grand Slam success as they sang for the crowd at the home wins over England and Ireland. They will be looking to regenerate that same Hywl on 2 May when the nation gets its chance to formally thank Gareth Thomas and Michael Owen’s team for winning the RBS Six Nations title for the first time.
The Welsh Squad will parade the RBS Trophy at the Millennium Stadium on an afternoon of Bank Holiday entertainment for all the family. Highlights from each of their five thrilling victories will also be displayed on the giant inflatable screen used by the stadium for the England v Wales soccer international last year.
On the day interviews with the players and management will be broadcast on the inflatable screen to give the crowd the chance to hear how Mike Ruddock couldn’t watch Gavin Henson’s last gasp kick against England; how Shane Williams sidestepped his way to glory as one of Wales’ six try scorers in Italy; how Martyn Williams tricked the French with his two tries in Paris; how the Welsh team wrote their names in the world record books by keeping the ball in play an astonishing 43.30 minutes in Scotland and how they finally ended a 27 year wait for a ninth Grand Slam by beating Ireland in Cardiff.
“The players are very much looking forward to being able to say thank you to the fans who supported them so well and made such a difference during the Six Nations campaign. They are also looking forward to getting together again as a team as they have been back with their clubs and regions since ending the Six Nations campaign,” said Wales team manager Alan Phillips.
There will be a chance to buy Grand Slam memorabilia and other attractions will include face painting and surprise guests. The national squad have personally invited Max Boyce as their guest.

Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis and will only be available in advance of the event – NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE ON THE DAY.
“This will be a fun day for all the family. It will be a great day out and while it will be excellent value for money, it is also great that we can give something back to two charities close to the hearts of rugby people – the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation and the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust,”

All profits from the show will be divided between two charities – the Toby Lloyd Cockbain fund and the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust. TLC was set up this year by Welsh Grand Slammer Brent Cockbain and his wife Kate in memory of their son, Toby, who died at the tender age of one last year.
Money raised through the TLC fund goes to support families affected by childhood cancers throughout the UK. The Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust raises money for Welsh injured rugby players.
“Kate and I are obviously extremely grateful to the Millennium Stadium and the WRU for their generosity – the support we have received from them has just been fantastic,” said Brent Cockbain.
“The momentum behind us has really spurred us on and helped us to work at something positive for Toby. The money we are raising will go to local charities and will directly benefit children with cancer in Wales and their families.”
Cardiff Blues will be staging an Under 13 seven-a-side festival in Pontcanna Fields before the event (10.00am-12 noon) at which a number of their international players will be in attendance with the RBS Six Nations trophy.
All participating teams will be invited to the Millennium Stadium to join in the fun and the winning team will receive their medals on the pitch.
