LLANDAFF NORTH QUASH PONTYCLUN IN THE CUP

After a nervous start, the North pack produced a solid platform which enabled the backs to run in the tries. Centre Cheryl Tyler scored a hatrick with determined running and good support play.

The Cardiff team built up a comfortable lead in the first half, even though playing in to a strong wind. Both wings, Abby King and Gemma Williams finished flowing movements before flanker Vikki Gaylard sprinted 40 metres to score.

Pontyclun couldn’t find an answer to Llandaff North’s driving line outs and superior speed which enabled centre Jess Kidley to pick holes in the defence and score a brace. Final score 48-0.

Following Caernarfon’s 22-13 defeat of Blaenau Gwent, the stage is set for a North v South final on Sunday 15th May, 2.30pm kick off at Pontypridd RFC (Sardis Road). All support is very welcome.
