Wales v Scotland – Monday 13 June
(Kick-off 5pm UK time) – Maristas RFC

Wales play Scotland this evening (Monday) in their second IRB U21 World Cup match with Swansea centre David Watts selected for his first cap at this level in place of Dafydd Lockyear of Pontypridd. Meanwhile, on the bench, Sam Wahdan replaces the suspended Tom Smith and Jamie Roberts of Cardiff comes in for Steve Ireland.

Davey said: “Dafydd (Lockyear) picked up an injury against New Zealand and has also been unwell for a few days. However, we are confident that David (Watts) will step up to the mark on his debut.

“There are also two changes on the bench with Sam Wahdan and Jamie Roberts coming in so it gives us the opportunity to have a look at those players.

“The team had a good first half against New Zealand so we will be looking to build on that in order to get our tournament going.

“We knew we had to get something out of our opening game in order to have a good chance of getting into one of the top four positions. That is now out of our hands to a certain extent and we have to wait and see how other teams do but we must go out there against Scotland and get a win under our belts.

“If we can do that, we also have to try and score some tries to get a bonus point.”
