WINNING START FOR NORTH LADIES

Club graphic

The home side, sponsored by B3 Burgess, started the defence of their league title with a hard fought win.

Fielding several players making their debut, Llandaff North could not have asked for a better start. Excellent passing from promising young centre Sophie Wilkinson, enabled winger Abby King to score in the first minute for the first of her four tries.

North continued their strong start and through excellent support play from the forwards, flanker Simon Dive powered over the line to score under the posts. After several powerful runs from the pack, centre Stacy Hardie was rewarded with a try of her own.  Outside half Paula Mullen converted 3 of the 6 tries, one with a fantastic kick from the touch line.

After two break away tries from scrum half Becky Davies and second row Awen Hopkins, Quins took on an attacking frame and started to make a come back. Llandaff North managed to hold Quins out with Captain Amy Broadstock leading by example to put in huge tackles and awesome defence.

Final score Llandaff North 36 Cardiff Harlequins 10
