COACH YOUNG LOOKING FOR CHANGE OF FORTUNES

The Blues go into the match at the Arms Park on the back of two Celtic League defeats leaving their bright early season promise looking decidedly gloomy.

Lacklustre displays in losses to Connacht and Ulster have seen the Blues slip to ninth in the table in a continuation of their form of last season which saw them finish last of the four Welsh regions. Previous meetings with the Stradey Park side don’t make happy reading for Blues fans with one win from four.

“We need to keep the ball better in contact if we’re going to build any pressure at all on teams,” admitted Young. “The Scarlets though will bring a rivalry which you don’t have playing the Irish or the Scottish sides.”

Gareth Jenkins’s side put the disappointment of defeat at home to Edinburgh Gunners behind them with a hard fought 24-15 win at Border Reivers. But with two days less rest than the Blues, Scarlets director of rugby Gareth Jenkins will have to make some changes to his side.
