PRINCIPALITY PREMIERSHIP PREVIEW

After four defeats, the Wanderers followed their first victory of the season over Maesteg with a 27-20 home win over Carmarthen Quins last weekend. Llandovery, currently second from bottom, were dispatched 21-13 by Cardiff last weekend and with a new confidence in the camp, the Wanderers may notch a third successive win in their bid to establish themselves in the top flight after a lengthy absence.

Aberavon travel to Pontypool after four penalty goals from fly-half Jamie Davies helped the Wizards to a 22-16 victory over Cross Keys last weekend. Davies became the first player to score 100 points this season and will hope to add to his tally against a Pooler side with just six points to their name this term.

Top of the table Pontypridd take on Llanelli at Sardis Road after comfortably defeating bottom placed Swansea last Saturday.

And after six wins in six Pontypridd look set to improve on last season’s 10th place finish and if they can sustain their early season may still be flying high come the end of the campaign.

Swansea travel to Bedwas still rooted to the bottom of the table and desperately in need of their first points of the season. But Bedwas may have other ideas after they suffered an agonising 11-12 defeat at the hands of Llanelli last weekend.

Unbeaten Bridgend welcome Cross Keys to the Brewery Field seeking to keep the pressure on Pontypridd at the top of the table. And a 45-0 mauling by Neath two weeks ago has seriously dented the confidence of a Keys side who have now lost two in a row. Chris Stephens is working wonders with the Ravens, however, and in their current mood they look set to inflict more misery on a useful Keys outfit that started the season brightly.

Cardiff will be looking to claim a second win of the season against Carmarthen Quins after they got off the foot of the table with a win over Llandovery last weekend. The Quins lost to Premiership new boys Glamorgan Wanderers in their last outing and will be hoping to bounce back against Cardiff

In the day’s other fixtures Reigning champions Neath travel to Eugene Cross Park to face Ebbw Vale and Newport play host to Maesteg.
