NEATH AND BRIDGEND MEET AGAIN IN KONICA MINOLTA CUP

Club graphic

Ebbw Vale will entertain Aberavon and Maesteg will host Carmarthen Quins in the other top flight encounters while there are home games for three other Premiership sides – Newport, Swansea and last season’s beaten finalists Pontypridd.

All three of these sides find themselves facing ASDA League Division 1 sides. Merthyr travel to Rodney Parade to meet Newport, Llanharan go to St Helen’s to face Swansea and Narberth trek to Sardis Road to tackle Pontypridd.

Another Division 1 v Premiership battle will take place at Caerphilly, where the visitors are Llandovery. It was Llandovery who hit the headlines in the third round by dumping the holders Llanelli out of the competition with a 29-21 home win.

The sole surviving team from North Wales, Division 4 North’s Nant Conwy has been rewarded with a home draw against Division 2 East’s Rhydyfelin. It will be the fourth straight home tie for the club after victories over Maesteg Quins (32-0), Hirwaun (48-8) and Tylorstown (24-6).

Eight of last weekend’s third round games were postponed due to poor weather and those games are due to be played this weekend.
