Neath’s chances of defending their league title were helped by Bedwas, who beat second-placed Aberavon 17-10 thanks to tries from Phil Dolman and Leigh Hinton. Bridgend flanker Adam Whitney scored a try double a 43-20 win over Cardiff as the Ravens move to second place on the table.

Cross Keys continued their impressive season with a 21-18 win at Llanelli, with outside-half Jonathan Williams kicking an important 11 points, while Newport produced a clinical three-try performance in their 29-12 win at Carmarthen Quins. Prolific goal-kicker Daniel Griffiths scored 14 points for the winners.

Pontypridd shut out Maesteg 29-0, despite losing prop Stuart Williams to a red card, while Swansea came back from 17-3 down at halftime to beat Ebbw Vale 27-20 in a thriller at St Helen’s. Outside-half Stuart Thomas kicked 17 points as Swansea bagged their fourth win of the season. Bottom-placed Llandovery secured an impressive 29-7 win over Pontypool to move above Cardiff and Quins in the standings.
