BOWDEN PICKS UP FIRST CAP AGAINST THE SCOTS
National coaches Fielies Coetsee and Jason Lewis have made a number of changes to the squad that lost 38-15 at the hands of England on Saturday. Captain Mel Berry changes from openside flanker to scrum half, moving Amy Day down to the bench. Jamie Kift switches from hooker to cover the 7 berth, with Bowden stepping up into the front row. Amy Broadstock replaces Claire Horgan at loose-head, while Claire Donovan pairs up with Liza Burgess in the second row and Rachel Brown takes the bench.
The backline from 10 to 15 remains unchanged.
Assistant Squad Coach, Jason Lewis, said “We are keen to promote the concept of a 22 woman squad and we have full faith in the whole squad. After a positive start against England, we are looking to build on some of the aspects of good play that were evident in the game and continue to improve in other areas.”
The fixture takes place on Friday 10th February at Pontypridd RFC, kick-off 7pm. Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, with accompanied U18s entering free.
