MILLENNIUM STADIUM TO USE PITCH AMBULANCES

The brand new, modified JCB ambulance will be available for use at all events at the Millennium Stadium from rugby and football to concerts and will ensure the swift egress of injured players or fans alike at any given time.

The stadium already houses a fully stocked casualty department used on event days and are also utilised by South Wales ambulances on busy city centre evenings. The pitch ambulance will be a valuable addition to the existing facilities.

“This means we can get injured players from the pitch quickly, efficiently and safely, which is especially useful with neck and back injuries,” said Dr John Williams, the Wales team doctor.

Millennium Stadium chief executive Paul Sergeant said: “Safety of every individual in the stadium is paramount and with this piece of equipment we’ll be able to access any potential emergencies on the pitch, quickly and efficiently.”

The modified JCB Groundhog prides itself on being tough and reliable and its ‘go anywhere’ performance makes it ideal for all sports events at the Millennium Stadium.

“We’re really pleased to have Millennium Stadium take delivery of this brand new innovative piece of machinery. It’s an ideal piece of equipment that will add to the stadium’s quick and efficient first aid service,” said Rob White, area sales manager JCB.
