SCARLETS SNAP UP SCOTLAND INTERNATIONAL

MacLeod, who made his international debut against Australia at Murrayfield in the Abbey Autumn Tests of 2004, was ruled out of the early part of this season with an ankle injury. However, he was drafted back into the international scene by Frank Hadden for this season’s RBS Six Nations Championships.

Having started in Scotland’s historic win over England at Murrayfield last month, Scott continued his fine form for the Borders last weekend taking the man of the match award during their 20 – 8 victory over Glasgow Warriors at Firhill on Friday night (March 3rd). Set to join returning Scarlet Stephen Jones at Stradey for pre-season training in June, Scott is the latest recruit in what is already a strong Scarlets line up set for the season ahead.

“We are pleased to announce that we have signed Scott MacLeod on a two year contract to begin this summer. Scott has proven his fine form at both club and International level this season and we look forward to welcoming him to Stradey this summer,” said Scarlets Chief Executive Stuart Gallacher.

MacLeod said: “My time at the Borders has been the most enjoyable of my career and I want to thank the coaching staff and fellow players, as well as the Borders public, for being so supportive of both myself and Borders rugby. I am a born and bred Hawick lad and this has been a difficult decision but one I needed to make.”
